This movie is the first of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The movie follows the series of books written by JRR Tolkien. The movie startts off in the past, with an elf retelling the story. The dark lord, Sauron, was poisoning all of Middle-Earth. Untill one day, a Last Alliance of men and elves fought him at his homeland, the dreaded Mordor. But he was made virtually invincible with one item, the Ring. The men and elves were fighting a losing battle against Sauron and the Ring. Until Isildur, son of the king, cut the Ring off of Sauron's hand. From then on, the Ring had many new owners . Until it managed to make its way into the hands of Frodo Baggins. He knew what must be done, he must destroy the Ring before Sauron set his hands on it once again. So he set off from his peaceful home to embark on a dangerous quest. A special council appoints nine companions to take the Ring to the heart of Mordor to destroy it. Two men, Aragorn, a Ranger, and Boromir, son of the Steward of Gondor. An elven prince, Legolas. A dwarf, Gimli. Four hobbits Frodo, and his close friends Samwise Gamgee, Meriadoc Brandybuck, and Perigrin Took. And also a wizard, Gandalf the Grey. The movie ends with the Fellowship breaking up and the loss of Boromir and Gandalf.
